Position Overview
The Communications Specialist will be an integral part of the Amazon team, helping to shape our internal and external communications strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our messaging aligns with Amazon’s brand values and resonates with our audiences. Your role will encompass a variety of functions, including public relations, content creation, social media management, and stakeholder communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication plans that support key business initiatives and enhance brand visibility.
- Draft, edit, and produce clear and engaging written content for various platforms, including press releases, internal newsletters, and social media posts.
- Manage and curate Amazon's corporate social media channels, ensuring consistent messaging and responsiveness to audience inquiries.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer service teams to gather insights and create messaging that resonates with our customers.
- Monitor media coverage and analyze communication efforts to report on success metrics and improvement areas.
- Assist in crisis communication efforts and help prepare messaging for internal stakeholders during critical situations.
- Support event planning and execution for both internal and external stakeholders, fostering engagement and community connection.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Experience with social media management and a basic understanding of analytics tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with content management systems.
